Today is Wednesday, June 8. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Blazin’ hot: The National Weather Service is predicting temperatures will hit 90 today! Now that is some hot stuff! But while we should see sun during the day, the NWS thinks we’ll have thunder and some rain after 3 p.m. today.   
  2. Go Bruins!: The are in the Stanley Cup finals and everyone seems to have jumped on the bandwagon. Head over to the tonight and catch the game, as well as a live performance from the at 9 p.m.
  3. Celebrate culture and education: The is celebrating from 6 to 8 p.m. The school has been learning about Africa all year and will bring together everything students learned in this two-hour celebration. Enjoy appetizers, entrees, music and theatrical performances.
  4. In case you missed it: Woburn Patch had a wonderful time at the first annual Scholarship Fundraiser event on Monday night. We took tons of pictures and talked to lots of fantastic people. .
  5. Communism frenzy: On this day in 1949, the Federal Bureau of Investigation released a list of names thought to be communists in Hollywood. Film stars Frederic March, John Garfield, Paul Muni and Edward G. Robinson were listed as people who “further Communist Party aims,” according to the FBI.
