Today is Friday, March 18. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Woo hoo!!: We are so excited, we just can’t contain ourselves today. The National Weather Service is forecasting sunny skies, a light breeze and temperatures in the mid-60s. If you need us today, we’ll be working from a random bench somewhere in the sunshine.
  2. B-23. B-23: It’s . Parents and kids are welcome to a fun evening of Bingo-playing. The games start at 7 p.m.
  3. Redistricting question: Superintendent of Schools Mark Donovan is inviting parents to discuss the “Middle School Question” on his redistricting blog. Donovan said yesterday, “Based on the input we received, the best option seems to be to continue to have students in the current Clapp district attend the Joyce Middle School, but we want to include some workable option for students to attend the Kennedy Middle School.” Click here to chime in.
  4. In case you missed it: Woburn Patch photojournalist extraordinaire Rick Nohl was out and about yesterday and came across a . The truck pulled wires down, causing a pole to break and setting off a small tree fire. Woburn Fire quickly extinguished the flames while Police shut down both streets. Repairs to the pole continued into the afternoon. .
  5. You have the right to remain silent: Without this day in history, TV Detectives Benson and Stabler would never utter these now infamous words. On this day in 1963, the U.S. Supreme Court handed down the decision on Miranda V. Arizona, stating that anyone arrested had to be made aware of his or her constitutional rights, including the right not to speak and the right to counsel. Arrests always start with the reading of the Miranda rights. Not having them read to you is not a get-out-of-jail-free card, but if police forget to read them, nothing the person says can be used against them in court.
