Today is Wednesday, March 2. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Bring on spring: We sincerely hope the National Weather Service is right with its forecast for today. According to NWS, we can expect to see sunny skies and temperatures close to 50. But enjoy the warmth while you can, because temperatures are expected to dip back into the 20s tomorrow. (Insert frowny face here).     
  2. Friends Helping Seniors: Interested in doing something good for the community? Then check out the Friends Helping Seniors online auction between now and March 18. You can bid on items such as dinners at and , as well as antiques, art, home items and more. The Friends are a non-profit organization that raises money to help senior activities in the city of Woburn.  
  3. Redistricting: The redistricting meetings at the elementary schools continues tonight with a session at the . The meeting is expected to last one hour and will be from 6 to 7 p.m.
  4. In case you missed it: , led by Casey Shea, had a simply phenomenal game Monday night. While we were tweeting updates from the game all night Monday, we also ran a story on Shea and the team yesterday. If you didn’t see it, .  
  5. Green eggs and ham, anyone?: On this date in 1904, Theodor Geisel, better known to most as Dr. Seuss, was born in Springfield. Geisel wrote 48 books, including The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and Oh, the Places You’ll Go. Geisel’s birthday is commemorated every March 2 with Read Across America Day.
