Today is Friday, March 25. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Clear skies: According to the National Weather Service, we’re in for a stretch of sunny skies! Friday is expected to be mostly sunny with temperatures in the high 30s, while Saturday, Sunday and Monday are also expected to be sunny with temps in the 40s.
  2. Pink bash: The , which benefits the non-profit breast cancer support group, will be tonight at the . We hope that the party raises a ton of money and everyone has a wonderful time!
  3. Did you know?: In 1987, Woburn hit a record high 73 degrees on March 25? If you think that’s toasty, it’s nothing compared to the record high on March 31, 1998 when it hit 92 degrees! Now, let’s look at the lows: In 1960, it was a record low 13 degrees on March 25. But the record low for Woburn in March was March 19, 1967 when it was negative-9 degrees. Now that’s chilly!
  4. In case you missed it: A 49-year-old Woburn woman led city and state police on a yesterday morning. Louise Nelson failed to stop for in the city, before going on the highway. While Woburn cops stopped pursuing the car, the state police kept Nelson’s vehicle in sight by helicopter. She was eventually stopped with road spikes near Newbury. .  
  5. New York tragedy: On this date in 1911, the Triangle Shirtwaist Company factory caught fire, killing 49 women. Another 100 female employees jumped to their deaths in an attempt to escape the flames. The building’s fire prevention systems were not up to par, with no sprinkler systems installed and a fire hose with a rusty, non-working valve. Ten days later, the workers’ union led a march protesting the factory conditions, which was attended by 80,000 people.
