1) Clouds descend: Well, we’ve been enjoying some sunshine lately, so it was only natural for the clouds to creep in. According to the National Weather Service, Woburn will be cloudy with temperatures in the high 40s. We could see some rain after school and work today, too.

2) Senior lecture series: The lecture and breakfast series continues this morning with a discussion on new probate codes for estates. The presentation begins at 10:30 a.m.

3) Event spotlight: Not every student automatically thinks of college after high school. But there are opportunities for students with learning “differences.” There will be a tonight at Woburn Memorial High School at 6 p.m.

4) In case you missed it: A two-alarm fire raged in a Franklin Street home yesterday afternoon. With the help of Burlington Patch Editor Rich Hosford, we had you covered with photos and all the details.

5) A Pacific discovery: On this day in 1776, Juan Bautista de Anza, a Western explorer, settled in the future site of San Francisco with over 200 colonists. Anza established a military fort and six months later, a Franciscan priest founded a mission nearby. The mission was named after St. Francis of Assisi, San Francisco de Asiacutes.
