1) Really, Mother Nature? Really?: OK, we were shocked when we checked today’s weather forecast. Rain, sure, we can handle that. But snow? Snow?! 2) Speed dating: Ever heard of the speed dating phenomenon? Singles meet and have several short “dates,” to get a feel for the other and see if they are interested in pursuing another date. Tonight at singles are gathering for Cost is $32.

3) Event spotlight: The city’s Board of Health and Housing Authority are both meeting tonight. Join the Board of Health meeting at 4:30 p.m. at . The WHA meeting will be held at the Nichols Street Extension community room at 6:30 p.m.

4) In case you missed it: We often hear residents discussing or looking at the Level 3 sex offender posters at the Woburn Police station. We researched the numbers in surrounding communities and posted a chart yesterday. Take a look at how many Level 3 offenders are either living or working in Woburn here.

5) It’s not unusual…: Well. Maybe it is unusual. On this day in 2006, singer Tom Jones was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II. Sir Tom Jones of Wales is a Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. Paul McCartney and Elton John also carry the title of “sir,” while The Who’s Roger Daltrey is just a commander. Come on, Queen Elizabeth, let’s move Daltrey up a little higher, OK?
