Today is Tuesday, March 29. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Warming on up: The National Weather Service is expecting the sun to stay with us today and temperatures to hit the high 40s. It will be a bit breezy today, so keep that in mind when getting dressed for work or school. 
  2. Linscott-Rumford reminder: School officials are reminding parents to not park in the back playground area at dismissal at the . According to the school’s newsletter, buses are having trouble navigating around the parent vehicles to pick up the bus students. Another reminder, cars should not be entering the back parking area from the driveway on Elm Street, that is an exit-only lane.  
  3. Relay for Life: The will begin planning this year’s event at the today at 6:30 p.m. If you have never been involved, but want to help with this year’s event, now is the time to get started!
  4. In case you missed it: There was a as an Orange Street man led police officers through the city during an attempted motor vehicle stop. Police speeds were kept to a minimum, but the suspect was driving up to 60 miles per hour in a residential neighborhood. .
  5. Don’t drink the beer: On this date in 1966, the Dow Brewery in Quebec destroyed over 4.5 million liters of beer after 16 people died in the Quebec City area. The nearly 1 million gallons of beer was believed to have contained an extra dose of cobalt, used to keep a frothy head to the drink. That extra dose allegedly led to the deaths in Quebec City.
