  2. School Committee meets: The to discuss the budget, and, possibly redistricting. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the conference room.
  3. Breakfast and talk: The Senior Center’s series will focus on the topic “What is a trust?” this week. The breakfast begins around 9:45 a.m. with the discussion to follow at 10:30 a.m. For more information, contact Judy Tanner at 781-897-5963.
  4. In case you missed it: Our highlighted some great deals in Woburn, but also provided some tips on how you can find great deals on your own. All you need is a printer and the information in this week’s Frugal Family. .
  5. A president is shot: On this date in 1981, President Ronald Reagan was shot in the chest by a drifter named John Hinckley Jr. After the president had addressed a labor union in Washington, Hinckley approached him and shot into Pres. Reagan’s entourage six times. The president was shot in the left lung, and was shoved into his limo. Three others were also shot, including White House Press Secretary James Brady, who would suffer brain damage due to his injuries. Pres. Reagan, who was 70 at the time, walked into the hospital under his own power and was in surgery for two hours to repair his collapsed lung. He returned to the White House April 11.
