Today is Friday, May 13. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Blackhole Sun: Well, we didn’t have as much sun as we hoped for yesterday, but the National Weather Service is saying we’ll have a lot of it today. Let’s hope its right! The NWS is forecasting sunshine and temps in the mid-60s for this fantastic Friday the 13th.
  2. Court appearance: Three men charged in connection with the will be in court this morning for a pre-trial conference. Stay with Woburn Patch for any new details.
  3. Yard sale: Don’t forget the city-wide yard sale is tomorrow! .
  4. In case you missed it: Principal Ernie Wells made a promise to his students and kept it. .  
  5. Last night I dreamt I went to Manderly again: On this day in 1907, British author Daphne Du Maurier was born in London. Most known for penning the romantic suspense novel, Rebecca, Du Maurier was a popular author whose books are still widely read today. Rebecca and her short story, The Birds, were made into movies by Alfred Hitchcock. What’s with the Manderly reference in our title? If you got it, tell us in the comments!
