Today is Wednesday, May 18. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Raindrops keep falling on my head: Ugh. More rain. And lots of it. According to the National Weather Service we can expect showers today with spotty thunderstorms that could bring heavy downpours. There is an 80 percent chance it will rain today. But, even with all the rain, it will be a bit warmer than it was yesterday; temps should hit the high 50s today.    
  2. Yum-yums for a good cause: As we mentioned yesterday, fundraiser is tonight. Several awesome restaurants from Woburn and beyond will offer up delicious meals for one price. All proceeds will go to NuPath, which is a Woburn-based organization that helps adults with disabilities. Help out a great organization and enjoy some awesome food at the same time.
  3. Zoning discussions: Interested in zoning? Then head over to the Board of Appeals meeting tonight. There are several petitions on the agenda for the 7 p.m. meeting that will be held at .
  4. In case you missed it: The School Committee Resource sub-committee met briefly yesterday to discuss the . As we learned during the meeting, officials are now considering whether to use the Clapp School or portable classrooms at another school during the “next” school building project. .
  5. 'Namaste' to the Nuclear Club: On this day in 1974, India became the sixth nation to detonate a nuclear bomb. It joined the original five powers under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), which are the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France and China. Since India became a nuclear power, Pakistan and North Korea have also detonated bombs of their own. It is also widely believed that Israel has nuclear weapons, though the state has officially denied this.
