1) Par for the course: Look for today's temperature to remain steady with what we have had over the weekend. National Weather Service is calling for a high of 66 degrees with partly cloudy skies. You might want to try golfing today, as skies get grey next couple of days.

2) Defend yourself: The 2 Merill St., is offering your first two classes free. Kids and Teens ages 5-17 are welcome to come down and see what it is all about. 

 

3) True blood: Blood donations are always in need and you can do your part today by participating in the American Red Cross Blood Drive at 4 Federal St. The drive will be open from 1 to 6 p.m. and all donors receive a Burger King coupon.

5) Lusitania sinks: On this day in 1915, a German U-boat torpedoed and sank the British ocean liner Lusitania off the coast of Ireland. Within 20 minutes of being attacked, the ship sank to the bottom of the Celtic Sea. 1198 souls of the 1959 people on-board, including 128 Americans drown. The world condemned the act and drew considerable ire from the United States which had pledged neutrality at the start of World War I.
