Here are five things you need to know today:

1) Here comes the rain again: Looks like our streak of beautiful fall days are over. The National Weather Service is forecasting rain showers after lunch today, with rain falling heavily at times. Temperatures will hover in the low 60s. Expect a thunderstorm later, as you’re heading to bed. (Oh, and you can thank me later for getting that Eurhythmics song stuck in your head.)

2) Restaurant raffle: The is holding a special restaurant raffle during the month of November. Tickets are $10 each. The winner will receive $500 worth of restaurant gift certificates! The winner will be announced at the Society’s event at on Nov. 28.

5) Sweeping the Clouds Away: Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street? That's right, this day marks the anniversary of the premiere of the quintessential children's show "Sesame Street," which first aired in 1969. The show was created by Joan Ganz Cooney and Lloyd Morrisett and has captured young audiences with its short films, educational programing and, of course, its lovable Jim Henson Muppet characters.
