Five Things You Need to Know Today, Nov. 4

City is looking for "a few good men."

Here are five things you need to know today:

1) More sun: Believe it or not, we’re in store for another beautiful day! The National Weather Service is forecasting sunshine and temperatures in the 50s, as we get ready for the weekend. Here’s hoping we don’t have a repeat of last weekend!

3) Event spotlight: The on Lexington Street will hold its gala celebration—An Evening of Dreams—tonight at the Café Escadrille in neighboring Burlington. .

4) In case you missed it: The wonderful organization is already getting ready for the winter holidays. Nadine visited the NuPath workshop and learned all about what they are making this winter—homemade, beautiful stockings and more.

5) Discovery of a boy king: On this day in 1922, Howard Carter and George Herbert (5th Earl of Carnavon) discovered the tomb of the Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamun, commonly known these days as King Tut, in the Valley of the Kings. Historians say King Tut ruled in Egypt's 18th Dynasty (1333 - 1323 BC) and he began his reign at the age of 9 or 10 years old. The discover of the nearly-intact golden tomb with King Tut's well-preserved remains sparked international interest in Ancient Egypt, which originally saw the disruption and removal of many artifacts, but is today a great source of tourist money for the country.
