It's election day!

Here are five things you need to know today:

 

1) A great day for voting: Mother Nature is on our side again today, as we should have near-perfect weather. According to the National Weather Service, it will be mostly sunny, clear and in the high 60s today. What a great day for voting!

2) Election day: It’s the day candidates have been waiting for—Election Day 2011. Polls open at 7 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m. For everything you need to know about the election, check out our page here. Need to know quickly where your polling place is? .

3) Event spotlight: Two of Woburn’s service groups—the Kiwanis and the Rotary Club—will meet today for weekly meetings. The meet at 6:45 p.m., while the meets at 12:15 p.m. during lunch.

 

4) In case you missed it: Woburn city officials met with attorneys representing the 38 Development proposal for north Woburn yesterday. .

 

5) “Ask not what your country can do for you…”: On this day in 1960, President John F. Kennedy was elected to office. He would be the youngest man elected to that position and the first Catholic in the White House.
