Five Things You Need to Know Today, Oct. 3

Here are five things you need to know today:

 

1) A bit of both rain and sun: The National Weather Service couldn’t quite make up its mind for today. The NWS expects us to see some sun during the day, but we could also see some rain after lunch. So… Be prepared for anything!

2) MCAS reports: Students received their MCAS reports on Friday. If you haven’t seen it yet, ask your middle-schooler!

3) Playground near WPD: The has brand-new equipment for little Woburnites. According to the Recreation Department, the equipment is ready for use, but the city is still working on the stairs. The city says people can use the playground, but should use caution accessing the site.

5) ‘If the glove doesn’t fit…’: On this day in 1995, O.J. Simpson was acquitted for the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman. Much of the country was riveted to television and newspaper coverage of the 252-day trial in which a “dream team” of lawyers raised a reasonable doubt about Simpson’s alleged guilt. One of the famous lines from the trial was said by Simpson attorney Johnnie Cochran in regard to the bloody glove found at the murder scene: “If it doesn’t fit, you must acquit.”
