4) In case you missed it: Much of the city was without power Wednesday afternoon after a construction mishap on Commerce Way. According to officials, an NSTAR pole fell on a wire, causing outages throughout Woburn and several other neighboring communities.
5) Presidential assassination: On this day in 1981, Egyptian President Anwar-el Sadat was assassinated by a group of dissidents reportedly angered over the president signing the Camp David Peace Accords with Israel. Sadat was assassinated during an annual victory parade in Cairo, celebrating Egypt's crossing of the Suez Canal, in front of a large group of onlookers. Eleven other people were killed, including the Cuban ambassador to Egypt, and 28 more were wounded. Sadat was replaced by Hosni Mubarak, who ran the country in a dictatorship-style until being ousted following massive protests earlier this year.
