Five Things You Need to Know Today, Sept. 12

A little bit of sun, a little bit of clouds.

Today is Monday, Sept. 12. Here are five things you need to know:

 

1) Mixed bag: We’ll most likely have a mixed bag of weather today, with the National Weather Service forecasting both clouds and sun. Temperatures will be in the high 70s.

2) Mayor’s statement: Last week, Mayor Scott Galvin issued a statement regarding the armed robbery at Mustos Jewelers and subsequent shooting of Woburn Police Officer Robert DeNapoli. Read the statement here.

3) City Hall: The City Council Subcommittee on Finance and Subcommittee on Municipal Lands will meet tonight at , starting at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in the City Hall Committee Room on the first floor.

5) The start of Camelot: On this day in 1953, John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy were married in Newport, Rhode Island. They would become the youngest President and First Lady in history in 1960. The pair were married in a Catholic Mass attended by 750 people; another 450 people also attended the following reception.
