2) Last day of summer vacation

3) More rain

According to the National Weather Service, the rain will continue today with showers and maybe even a thunderstorm. We may see some heavy rainfall and even patchy fog in areas. Expect temperatures to stay in the low-80s. Also, beware for wind, the NWS says we may see wind gusts up to 28 miles per hour!

4) In case you missed it

Woburn Police remained busy over the three-day weekend, . Included in the reports: a man blinded by high beams, causing him to drive off the road; live ammunition found on city property; and a group of teens found spray-painting the old RMV building. Oh, and a guy who learned the hard way that yelling late at night is indeed against the law.

5) Facial hair fee?

On this day in 1698, Russia's leader Peter the Great imposed a tax on beards in an effort to "modernize" Russia with contemporary modern fashions. This was not the first beard tax in history, England's Henry, who had a beard himself, issued a tax in 1535 on facial hair. In Russia, those who paid the tax were given a "beard token" that said "the beard tax has been taken" on one side and "the beard is a superfluous burden" on the other. Fortunately for bands like ZZ Top, no such tax was ever introduced in the United States.
