Five Things You Need to Know Today, Sept. 8

An update on Woburn Police Officer Robert DeNapoli's recovery from Wednesday's shooting. Plus, rain expected to fall during two public meetings at City Hall tonight.

Today is Thursday, Sept. 8. Here are five things you need to know:

 

1) Looks like rain: 60% chance of rain today with highs of 66 and lows of 63. If you were planning some outdoor activities, you might want to think of rescheduling.

2) Woburn Conservation Committee Meeting: There will be a Woburn Conservation Committee Meeting tonight at 7 p.m at Woburn City Hall. The agenda is focused on several public hearings from residents.

3) Woburn Recreation Committee Meeting: Another 7 p.m. meeting at City Hall. The Recreation Committee's agenda is focused on several items tonight, including a look at the 5-year Capital Plan for the Library Park Playground.

 

4) In case you missed it: After yet another tragic shooting in Woburn, Patch takes a look at how is recovering from his injuries. This marks the second time Woburn Police have faced direct gun-related attacks in the past 9 months.

 

5) Tragedy at YellowStone: For the first time in since its 1872 opening, Yellowstone National Park had to close today back in 1988 due to out-of-control forest fires.
