Today is Friday, Sept. 9. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Here comes the Sun: After a week of dreary, London-in-a-bad-movie weather, you can look forward to sunny skies and a high near 80 degrees today.
  2. A tough week continues: The weather may have improved, but Woburn Police and the District Attorney’s office are still in the throes of a difficult week. Police Antonio Matos, 25, of Boston, as one of the suspects who shot office Robert DeNapoli during an attempted jewelry heist at Four Corners. Police also sent out a couple of “Be on the lookout” calls for two cars, involved in the DeNapoli shooting and involved in Tuesday’s at Showcase Cinemas, respectively.
  3. Go Tanners! The Football Tanners take on regional powerhouse Acton-Boxborough in . Kick off is at 7 p.m..        
  4. Profiting puppy: This week’s movie is “Bailey’s Billions,” about a dog that inherits his owner’s estate. ..
  5. Cradle of liberty: On this day in 1893, Esther Cleveland was born. She was the second daughter of President Grover Cleveland and his wife Frances, and the first presidential baby born in the White House.
