IMAGE GALLERY: Skies Aflame With Severe Weather
As the western part of the state has faced tornadoes tonight, Woburn has just seen some interesting skies.
The skies were aflame with orange shortly after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, as the western part of the state prepared for its second tornado of the night.
In Woburn, there was thunder, lightning and interesting skies, but no severe weather like was seen in Springfield and other western Massachusetts communities.
As of 8 p.m., the National Weather Service had issued the following advisories for Middlesex County: a severe thunderstorm warning until 8:30 p.m., a flood advisory until 10:15 p.m. and a tornado watch until 11 p.m.

Gov. Deval Patrick issued a state of emergency for the commonwealth around 8 p.m. Wednesday and reported that at least one fatality was attributed to the tornadoes. The National Guard was called into action tonight to assist emergency personnel with storm-related responses.
