Pho #1 Woburn is Number One

This Main Street eatery has loads of choices, including it's #1 dish—pho (of course)!

Pho #1 Woburn

Overview: is a hidden gem nestled in North Woburn near the Wilmington line. They serve up authentic and reasonably priced Vietnamese cuisine. They have everything from Pho (pronounced Fah), a traditional noodle soup bowl, to Vermicelli (Bun) and everything in between. If you enjoy Vietnamese food but don’t want make the trip out to Chinatown in Boston, give Pho #1 Woburn a try!

Decor: The restaurant is small and modestly decorated. The space feels very open and there are plenty of tables for dining in.

Beverages: We know it’s not Vietnamese, but Thai Iced Tea is definitely a nice treat. It is iced Thai Tea (which is orange) sweetened and topped off with cream. We also recommend getting one of their many varieties of Lemonades/Limeades. They also serve Bubble Tea Lattes, Coconut Juice, Soymilk and various Fruit Milk Shakes. If you are a coffee aficionado, Vietnamese Coffee packs a wallop. It’s served with sweetened condensed milk and boy is it strong!

Appetizers: Is it contradictory to say that Pho #1 has a smorgasbord of appetizers? You can find Asian classics like Crab Rangoon, Chicken Satay and Scallion pancakes, but we challenge you to try something different too. They serve rolls, Tempura, dumplings, fried seafood and unique fare like Roasted Quail, Shrimp Toast and Fish Cakes.

Entrees: Go Pho! You can get the Vietnamese Noodle Soups (Pho) in small, medium or large, but in any size it’s still a hearty bucket of soup. Pho consists of fresh noodles, vegetables and your choice of meat and it comes with a side of bean sprouts, basil and lime. We highly recommend the Vermicelli (Bun). It’s a cold salad of vermicelli noodles, lettuce, mint, peanuts and bean sprouts that you can top with different meats or seafood or with crispy spring rolls.  We also love the Vietnamese Rice plate of salad, rice and pork chops and the yellow noodles topped with loads of stir fried veggies and meat, seafood or tofu. There are lots of special dishes including Curry, Duck, Seafood, Pork, Beef, Chicken, Vegetarian dishes and the specials of the day.

Sides: The entrees are very hearty, but if you feel the need for a little extra something on the side, Pho #1 has your standard steamed rice, sticky rice and yellow and white noodles to accompany your meal. You can also get some extra peanut sauce, extra meat or Nuoc Cham, a traditional Vietnamese fish sauce.

Service: Pho #1 Woburn is open every day for Lunch and Dinner. You can dine in or order takeout for pick up or delivery.
