Today is Tuesday, April 9. Here are five things to know:

1) Warm but Windy

Overall it looks like a nice, but windy, day today. According to the National Weather Service we can expect a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7 a.m. Otherwise partly sunny with a high near 71 degrees. Wind gusts as high as 30 miles per hour. Chance of showers tonight and otherwise cloudy with a low around 49.

2) Public meetings

The Woburn Planning Board is meeting at 7 p.m. in the Woburn City Hall, Council Chamber. The Woburn School Committee is meeting at 7 p.m. in the Joyce Middle School Conference Room.

3) Library closing early

The Woburn Public Library is closing earlier tomorrow. A note on its web site states "The Library will close at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We will re-open on Wednesday, April 10 at 9:00 a.m. as usual."

5) Jimmy V Fund fundraiser

The Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grill has partnered up with Cornona to raise money for The Jimmy V Fund.  All of the Scoreboard staff are selling paper basketballs to be hung up around the restaurant.  The Jimmy V Fund is for cancer research. They will be selling the basketballs till the end of March Madness.
