The Facebook News Feed: Where Did Everything Go?

Wondering why you don't see Woburn Patch statuses? So are we! But we have a solution for you...

It seems like every week or so, a new Facebook "algorithm" pops up. What the heck is a Facebook algorithm? It's something created by the social media giant to show you what you "want" to see within your News Feed.

But I don't see what I want to see, you say.

We know! We hear this all the time, we respond.

But we have a solution for you—Interest Lists. Tech savvy informants tell Woburn Patch that if you subscribe to an Interest List, you will see every status we post.

Terrific, let us explain, we respond.

Woburn Patch has created an Interest List here. It's public, free, and all of you can subscribe.

Once you have subscribed to the WuPatch Interest List, all you need to do is look at the left-side column of your Facebook news feed. You'll see things like: Favorites, Ads, Pages, Groups, Apps. At the very bottom is the word "interests" (Note: You may have to click "See More" to see Interests.) Under the Interest menu, you'll see a link that says "Woburn Patch." Click there and—voila!—all our statuses in one easy to read News Feed.

We've also heard that just by subscribing to our Interest List, you'll also see all the statuses in your regular News Feed when you login. That one we're not sure about, we're going to keep an eye out for whether that's true.

Want to create your own Interest Lists? Here's how:

  1. Go to your news feed
  2. On the left side of the page, click "more" (at the very bottom)
  3. Click "add interests"
  4. Follow directions, adding your favorite pages to either one Interest List or several.
  5. Name your list.
  6. Make it public (for all the world to subscribe to) or private (just for you).
  7. Enjoy!
