What's the Right Age To Take Care of a Pet?

Weigh in on this parenting issue.

Each week, we pose a question to our readers on a parenting topic. Usually our Woburn Patch Moms Council answers the question, but since we have had such a great reaction to our new format and time, we're going to keep it going.

Woburn Patch invites you and your circle of friends to help build a community of support for mothers, fathers and their families right here in Woburn.

Grab a cup of coffee and settle in as we start the conversation today with a question from a local parent:

Q. At what age do you think a child is ready to take care of a pet? Should you start with a "starter pet" like a hermit crab or a goldfish to see if your child is on his or her way to be ready to care for a dog or cat?

Let us know what you think about this question in the comments below!
