Whiz Kid of the Week: Jessica DaSilva

Woburn Patch selects Jessica DaSilva as the Whiz Kid of the Week.

Each week, Woburn Patch will select a . This week, we chose Jessica DaSilva, a 13-year-old Joyce Middle School student. DaSilva was a member of the National Junior Honor Society in sixth grade and earned a Pop Warner scholarship.

  • Jessica DaSilva is an accomplished student who earned National Junior Honor Society marks in sixth grade. She also earned a Pop Warner scholarship.
  • Jessica's "Key to Awesomeness" is that she is a "very determined young woman who loves school, her friends and cheerleading," said her mom, Jennifer. The 13-year-old Joyce student prides herself on her great report cards, and has been earning top marks since pre-school. Her mom says Jessica puts every effort into making her school projects and reports the best they can be. The DaSilvas lived in Tewksbury before moving to Woburn in 2009. Jessica began cheering in Tewksbury and moved onto Pop Warner in Woburn. She is currently on the Satellite Senior 2 Team at ECE in Tewksbury. "When she's not studying, or cheering, you can find her with her friends either at the mall or tumbling around in someone's back yard," said Jennifer. "Jessica just started babysitting and really enjoys the new responsibilities it brings, along with the spending money." Jennifer added that when Jessica turns 14 years old, she would like to begin volunteering at Winchester Hospital.
