Whiz Kid of the Week: Sarah O'Brien

Woburn Patch selects Sarah O'Brien as the Whiz Kid of the Week.

Each week, Woburn Patch will select a . This week, we chose Sarah O'Brien, a graduating senior at Woburn Memorial High School. Sarah is an accomplished student and athlete.

  • Sarah is the 2011 McKeown Scholar, which is given to a student in honor of James McKeown, the late president of Cummings Properties. 
  • Sarah's "Key to Awesomeness" is that she is a well-rounded student, who excels academically. She is also a member of the varsity track and cross-country teams, and participates in several extracurricular and community service activities. Sarah has been selected as a member of the “Character Congress” each of the past four years in recognition of her strong character.  Sarah is a self-proclaimed “aspiring journalist and avid writer.” She is currently editor-in-chief of The Bull’s Eye, Woburn Memorial High School’s award-winning student publication, and is a correspondent for Woburn’s Daily Times Chronicle, writing weekly senior profiles. Someday, she hopes to write and illustrate children’s books. Sarah will attend Providence College this fall where she plans to study creative writing and studio art. We are happy to highlight Sarah as this week's Whiz Kid!
