Whiz Kid of the Week: Will Carpenter

Woburn Patch selects Will Carpenter as the Whiz Kid of the Week.

Each week, Woburn Patch will select a . This week, we chose Will Carpenter, an outstanding athlete and generous spirit.

  • Will Carpenter, 10
  • Will is an accomplished athlete, but also a thoughtful, charitable youth.
  • Will's "Key to Awesomeness" is that he is a great athlete, but an even more generous person. Known as “Will the Thrill” by his baseball teammates and coaches, Will is hitting over .500 for his AAA baseball team, the Twins. He is also scoring key goals for his highly-ranked U10 Travel Soccer team, was one of the leading scorers this past winter on the Woburn Squirt 2 hockey team, and was a key player on the Woburn Under 11 lacrosse team. But even more impressive, though, was what he accomplished on his 10th birthday, said his coach, Craig Clark. Will donated all of his gifts from his skating party to the Children’s Floating Hospital Pieces of Home Backpack Project.  Will is not only a great kid and top-notch athlete, but he is also incredibly thoughtful and charitable, said his coach. And we agree! Woburn Patch is happy to highlight Will as this week's Whiz Kid!
