Whole Foods Has a Whole Lot of Choices

Check out the Whole Foods Market Cafe for a different dining experience.

The popular supermarket chain, which focuses on natural and organic groceries, has one of the best cafes around. Why? Because of the sheer variety of foods and beverages they offer for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Everyone from picky eaters to vegans to adventurous foodies will find something they like at the .

Decor: The cafe is very open, and on a sunny day, it's flooded with natural light. The cafe area consists of a bakery, salad bar, soup bar, hot foods bar, pizza grill, prepared foods counter, sushi bar and a patisserie counter. You'll also find refrigerated packaged meals and a variety of fruit juices, sodas and other drinks. There is a separate dining area past the cash registers and near the exit of the store. There are several big booths for in-store dining and places to recycle your waste. The cafe has free Wi-Fi for patrons so Whole Foods is a great place to have your working lunch.

Breakfast: According to our good friends at Whole Foods in Woburn (@WFM_Woburn if you are on Twitter), they serve hot egg and cheese and egg, cheese and ham sandwiches for breakfast. You can also pick up one of their many muffins, cookies, bagels and other baked goods along with some hot coffee to go at their coffee bar.

Entrees: It's impossible to cram all of Whole Food's entree selections into one sole paragraph so let me just give you some highlights. On certain days of the week the cafe will have a burrito bar. The burritos are hefty and made-to-order. When they don't have burritos, you can order some hot paninis instead. Try the sushi! Made fresh by their sushi chefs and you can pick up some chopsticks, wasabi and soy sauce packets to go. The pizza is always consistently good and cut to order. On a diet? Make sure you check out the terrific salad bar with lots of healthy salad, vegetable and pasta salad options. And you can add a side of fresh cut fruit as well. All options are clearly labeled with ingredients for those of you with dietary restrictions or requirements.

Desserts: Whole Foods has an enormous selection of baked goods at their bakery counter, but the patisserie counter is where it's at. A nice selection of hand made cakes and tarts in various sizes. I highly recommend getting a few of the tiny tarts to have a variety of desserts with your meal. Or wander through the store and find the gelato bar for a cold treat.

Service: The salad, hot foods, soup and antipasto bars are serve-yourself areas. Pick up a plate or to-go box and fill with your favorite selections from the various bars. Prices are by the pound. If you go to any of the counters, a friendly Whole Foods employee will help package up your order to go. In the dining area, you bus your own table.
