Wife of Injured MBTA Officer from Woburn to Attend Fundraiser

Kim Donohue, the wife of Richard Donohue Jr. who was injured during a shoot-out in Watertown with the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, will be attending a fundraiser for her husband Sunday in Boston.

Kim Donohue, the wife of Woburn resident and MBTA Officer Richard Donohue Jr. who was injured during a shoot-out in Watertown with the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, will be attending a fundraiser for her husband Sunday in Boston, according to a recent update on the officer's Facebook page.

"I will be in attendance at the beautiful and historic Omni Parker House in downtown Boston, Sunday June 2nd (at) 2 (p.m.), for the Dic Donohue Fundraiser," Kim said, according to the post on Wednesday. "Hope to see you there!"

The "Friends of Dic" fundraiser is slated for 2-4:30 p.m. Sunday at Omni Parker House Hotel, 60 School St., Boston, according to the event website. As of 6 a.m. Thursday, more than $2,500 had been raised, according to the site.

The fundraiser will include a silent auction and raffles, and all proceeds will benefit the Donohue family, according to the site. Donations can be made here.

During the Watertown shoot-out in April, Richard Donohue, 33, was hit in the leg and the bullet tore femoral artery, causing significant blood loss. The bullet remains lodged in his leg.

Richard Donohue continues to receive support from friends and relatives at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Cambridge, as he received a visit from Brian Williams, television anchor from "NBC Nightly News" on Wednesday, according to the Facebook page.
