Woburn's Spring Flushing Continues This Week

Some residents may notice low water pressure or discolored water or air when flushing occurs in their area.

The following is a notice from the City of Woburn:

The City of Woburn Water Department continues its Spring Flushing of all water lines throughout the City. The next round of flushing will begin in two areas on Monday, June 10:

Area 1:
The flushing area will start on Main Street at the Route 128 Rotary, and continue north to the Wilmington line. All streets east and west of Main Street will be impacted.

Area 2:
The flushing area will start at Alfred Street and Main Street, and continue east to Forest Park Road and School Street. At School Street and New Boston Street, flushing will continue south-west to School and Main streets. This area includes School Street, Fletcher Road and Dartmouth Street neighbors.

In general, flushing takes place from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Seasonal flushing operations are aimed at clearing lines of settled sediment. People living in the area of flushing operations may experience a low pressure or discolored water or air during the scheduled flushing work. Residents who experience flushing-related discoloration are advised to run the tap water run until it clears.
