  • Our Facebook fan base is still growing, albeit a little slowly this week! We gained 12 new followers and, as of Friday night, were at 1,656 fans!
  • The Woburn Patch time machine revved up and went back to 1891 this week, which was a big hit with many of our readers. Kathy Richburg said, "Thanks Danielle, I really enjoy these peeks into the history of Woburn."
  • A lot of readers weighed in on the topic of whether we should call Woburn "the Wu" on Wednesday night. While Gaetano Del Guidice said, "I just think when you call Woburn (WU), it makes it sound like people are trying to make Woburn something it's not! I love Woburn, I have black and orange in my blood!" But many readers talked about how the city has taken on "the Wu" for its athletic teams and embraced the fun nickname. Daniela Bella Pellegrini said, "No, I think what's she's trying to say is that this is a free country and we can call our town whatever we feel like it. Not to sound rude." and Shannon Gately Sevier added, "My daughter just got a T-shirt from the High School that says 'Welcome to the WU.' I am jealous, I want one!" John Newman also said, "How long have you been out of Woburn? This phenomenon has started in the last few years by mainly the sports teams in town saying welcome the WU on shirts and sports banners etc. It's a nickname not anyone trying to make Woburn something it is not."
  • It was a quiet week on our Facebook page—must be the summer? Let us know how you're doing, we love to hear from you all!
  • Our Twitter fan base is also moving on up! We are currently at 611 followers. Welcome to our new readers!
  • As always, we try to post a conversation starter each night on our Facebook page, so be sure to join us there after 7 p.m. nightly!
