Election Day Comes to a Close as the Results Are In

Find out who came out on top in the mayoral, aldermen and School Committee races.

Incumbent Mayor Scott Galvin was re-elected to the city's top position on Tuesday as the unofficial results are in on Election Day.

Galvin earned an unofficial 6,378 votes, which was more than double the total accumulated by challenger John Flaherty, who was selected on 3,043 ballots.

For Aldermen at Large, challenger Michael Concannon topped the ticket with 4,837 votes, ahead of both incumbent candidates. Richard Haggerty was re-elected with 4,404 votes while current City Council President Paul Denaro fell short with 4,145 tallies.

All three incumbent School Committee members were re-elected as Michael Mulrenan topped the ticket with 5,497 votes followed by Patricia Chisholm at 4,619 and John Wells at 4,442. Also elected to the School Committee were Ellen Crowley and Joseph Demers.

Rosa DiTucci earned re-election to Ward One Alderman, besting Kevin Meaney, 877-427. Richard Gately won unopposed in Ward Two, Mark Gaffney ran away with Ward Three by a 1,199-400 victory over Michael Scire, Michael Anderson won unopposed re-election in Ward Four, and incumbent Darlene Mercer-Bruen toppled James Fletcher, 817-477, in Ward Five.

In Ward Six, Michael Raymond was soundly victorious, 716-229, over Francesco Stefano Recchia. Rounding out the ballots was Raymond Drapeau, who won unopposed in Ward Seven.
