Fifth Congressional Race to be Decided on Tuesday

The Fifth Congressional race will be decided during another election in Woburn and surrounding towns.

A busy year of elections continues on Tuesday in Woburn as residents are asked to go to the polls for the final time in 2013.

Voters in 23 communities and in three counties will go to the polls to select one of four candidates to be the 5th Congressional District's new U.S. Representative, to replace Ed Markey, who became the state's junior senator earlier this year.

Polls will be open in Woburn from 7 a.m. to 8 pm. as Woburn residents will be asked to select one of the following:

  • Frank J. Addivinola Jr., a Boston attorney, with the Republican party
  • Katherine Clark, a state senator from Melrose, with the Democratic party
  • James Aulenti, of Wellesley, with the Independent party
  • James Hall, and Arlington attorney with an independent party

This state already has enough "progressive" representation as it is (Markey, Warren, Tierney, lightweight JKIII, et al) who all tell each other just how wonderful they all are. Just for once, let's get an adult with some common sense into the club. Please? Unless, of course, you like having large (and getting larger) government continually reaching into your wallet to fund dubious programs with no oversight or accountability.
