5th Annual St. Baldrick's 46 Mommas: Shave for the Brave event

The St. Baldrick's Foundation, a volunteer-driven and donor-centered charity dedicated to funding childhood cancer research, announces its fifth annual St. Baldrick's 46 Mommas: Shave for the Brave event taking place at The Prudential Center on Sunday, July 27th.

The 46 Mommas team, representing the reality that on average 46 families each weekday receive the news that their child has cancer, was created in 2010 with a goal of raising $1 million for pediatric cancer research. It has exceeded that goal, having raised more than $1.4 million to date.

The 46 Mommas are joined by a common thread -- they all have ties to a child with cancer. This year, the team includes mothers of all ages from nearly 20 states and Canada, including Maisy Yeager of Dracut. Yeager's son, Zarek, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in January 2009 at just 8 years old after a routine dentist appointment. Zarek is now 13, cancer free and happily focused on his two biggest passions, bowling and playing guitar.

I'm not shaving this year, but I am volunteering and raising money for this amazing event.  Please donate to help me reach my goal, or come down to the event an cheer on all these awesome Moms!
