Rag Rock to Okinawa

The Woburn Historical Society invites you to join them for the presentation of their next program, “Rag Rock to Okinawa” on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Flaherty Auditorium, Woburn Memorial High School.  

Sue Ellen Holland, Board Director of the Woburn Historical Society, will present the program that illustrates the experiences of her father, Bob Martin of Woburn, while serving in the United States Marine Corp.  His personal memoir reflects the time of his enlistment on his 18th birthday to the point at which the United States dropped the atomic bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima.  The presentation is based on his book titled, “Rag Rock to Okinawa” in which he gives a first-hand account of what he witnessed, felt, lost and gained during his time at war.  Included in the presentation will be recollections of Woburn and several of its soldiers during WWII and its aftermath.
