Founder and Executive Director Ellie Anbinder “is thrilled at the founding of this division focusing on young professionals. This group is important because the incidence of breast cancer is rising in the younger age groups and we must prevent that from continuing.”

The social event will feature Harpoon craft beer and cider tastings, delicious food, fun raffles, and an exciting auction. All young professionals are invited to join the ABCBCF Young Professionals Preventing Breast Cancer group in support of further education, research, and prevention initiatives.

Dr. Nicole Longwell, Co-Chair of the Young Professionals Group and ABCBCF Board member says, "each year I know more people that have been either diagnosed with breast cancer or have family or friends who have been. Something is causing this problem - I'm proud to be a part of a foundation dedicated to finding a solution."

Peter Smith, also Co-Chair of the Young Professionals Group and ABCBCF Board member, enjoys "the opportunity to work with Art beCAUSE [and] be involved in taking a proactive step towards understanding the causes of this disease, and thereby helping to end it."

Past Art beCAUSE Breast Cancer Foundation events included a Neiman Marcus Fashion Show featuring Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski and Former Red Sox Catcher Jason Varitek and his wife, Catherine, and a Wine Tasting Event at Gordon’s Fine Wines & Liquor and a Cooking Demo with Chef Hughes Boucher of the Capital Grille Chestnut Hill. ABCBCF has also had the support of many Boston Marathon runners over the years and is very proud of its team of 14 runners this year!

ABOUT ART beCAUSE BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION:

Art beCAUSE Breast Cancer Foundation (ABCBCF) was founded in 2000 by breast cancer survivor Ellie Anbinder and Joyce Creiger, art consultant, with

the sole mission of raising money to support research devoted to exposing the environmental causes of breast cancer. With funds raised through a variety of fundraising activities, ABCBCF has granted over $180,000 to scientists dedicated to this research. “Seed the Scientists,” recipients include researchers at Silent Spring Institute, Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston University School

of Medicine, Boston University School of Public Health and the University of Rochester. ABCBCF is a non-profit 501(c)3 Foundation. ArtbeCAUSE.org

ABOUT YOUNG PROFESSIONALS PREVENTING BREAST CANCER:

Formed in early 2013 as a division of the Art beCAUSE Breast Cancer Foundation, Young Professionals Preventing Breast Cancer uses research

data funded by the ABCBCF to educate younger women and men on how chemicals in our environment and our every-day products cause breast cancer. Young Professionals Preventing Breast Cancer holds a number of professional networking and social events throughout the year to make women and men in the age bracket of 25 to 49 aware of the alarming and unexplained rise in breast cancer in their age group and what can be done to prevent the disease.
