Search On for Missing Boston Terrier

A Woburn family lost its dog, Penny, in the area of Silver Lake in Wilmington.

A Woburn family is searching in Wilmington and beyond as they hope to bring their missing Boston Terrier back home.

Friends and family have been searching for several days trying to locate Penny, who was spooked by several loose dogs as she was at Silver Lake in Wilmington with dog walker Jennifer Vadnais.

The brown and white dog, belonging to Woburn’s Christina Marshall, ran away with its harness and leash still on.

Residents in Stoneham and Reading have reported seeing Penny in the days since she ran away, and Marshall asked anyone in the surrounding area to be on the lookout for her beloved family pet.

“We are absolutely devastate and desperate to find her,” said Marshall. “She is sheltered and has never run away before, so we have absolutely no idea where she would go or what she would do. We will not rest until she is back home where she belongs.”

Marshall said that while Penny is a friendly dog, she is also shy. Because of that, Marshall added that if anyone sees the dog they should not chase her, but instead try to call her name and get her to come to them.

Penny is believed to be wearing a red harness, along with her tag and collar. She has a chip, so if anyone brings her to a veterinarian they will be able to reunite her with Marshall.

Any resident who locates Penny is asked to contact Marshall at (617) 947-3863, Vadnais at (339) 227-0402, or the local Police Department.

“I am heartbroken about this,” said Vadnais. “I’m terrified of what could happen to her. I just want her home safe and sound.”
