It’s the eighth and last week of the summer reading program. Please bring in your tracker sheets before Wednesday; you need to have read for at least four weeks to earn a certificate.
Pajama Storytime featuring Mikayla Essigmann is Tuesday evening, August 14, at 7:00 p.m. Come to the library in your pajamas, enjoy some snacks, and listen to some fun stories. This program is intended for ages 4 and up.
Thursday, August 16, from 10:00—11:30 a.m. is our grand finale! If you have read for four or more weeks, you have earned a certificate. Six weeks of reading earn a special pass for a free child and half-price adult schooner ride out of Gloucester. Eight weeks of reading earns a gold medal on your certificate. Anyone who earns a certificate also earns a free book of his or her choice, and some other small prizes. The party will be held outside behind the library; if the weather is wet or rain threatens, it will be held inside the Children’s Room.
In addition to giving out certificates, Rainforest Café’s Cha Cha the Tree Frog will be on hand, and their staff will be making sundaes for everyone. There will also be other treats available. Come and party with us in celebration of your reading!
These events are handicapped accessible. If accommodations are required, please call the library at 781-933-0148 for further information.
