UPDATE: Woburn Storm Central: Leap Day Storm

School delayed two hours Thursday.


While it's not a blizzard, this Leap Day storm is worthy of a Woburn Patch Storm Central!

We'll be adding your photos to this post, as well as all the information you need to know during this late February storm.

Woburn is under a Winter Weather Advisory from the National Weather Service until 6 p.m. Thursday and is expected to accumulate 4 to 6 inches of snow. 

Expect to see snow flakes after 3 p.m. Wednesday, says the NWS. 


  • Woburn Public Schools delayed opening two hours.
  • morning programs and classes cancelled.
  • Elementary School's is cancelled.


  • —religious classes cancelled.
  • MIAA Hockey playoffs at —Woburn Memorial High School vs St. Peter-Marian has been postponed to Thursday, March 1 at 8 p.m.
  • Dinner Church—cancelled.

With all the reserves of sand and salt the city must have due to the mild winter, why is my street covered in ice and snow?? Where are the plows and sanders?? Surely there must be enough to do the side streets in the first storm of the year!

I agree, first storm and my street is a skating rink. I saw one pick up truck plowing my street then nothing !

All the sand is safe in city yards new 3 million dollar hoop house .
