Boiling Hot Lobsters
Yesterday, the temperature at the Joan Norton Tennis Center was 106 prior to the match. The Lobsters got off to a hot start.
Lobster Amir Weintraub and Ryan Sweeting were up first in men’s singles. Amir had a first serve percentage of 83% and had 3 aces. He beat Sweating 5-2.
Jill Craybas had her best match of her Lobsters career with a 5-1 win over Olga Govortsova.
Keeping pace with their teammates, Eric Butorac & Katalin Marosi needed only 16 minutes to defeat Mark Knowles and Megan Moulton-Levy 5-2. The Lobsters had a 15-5 lead at 1/2 time.

After a quick ½ time break, the weather had cooled off and so had the Lobsters. Jill Craybas & Katalin Marosi lost to Olga Govortsova & Megan Moulton-Levy 5-2.
Ryan Sweeting & Mark Knowles defeated Eric Butorac & Amir Weintraub 5-1 to force overtime. With the score 18-15 Lobsters, the Capitals needed to win 4 games in a row to win the match. The Lobsters quickly won the 1st game to win the match.

The next match is Sunday, July 21st against the Washington Capitals @ 6 pm. A portion of ticket sales for the night will be given to the Jane Goodall Institute’s Roots & Shoots program.
The last match of the season will be on Monday, July 22nd against the Springfield Lasers. The match will also include a wheelchair tennis demonstration.
