What's Open, Closed on Thanksgiving

What's open and closed for the holiday today and travel tips for the busy weekend.

Here's the general list of what's open and closed on Thanksgiving Day—help out your neighbors by adding any stores you know are open for that last-minute item in the comments section below.

  • Early release at 11 a.m. for Woburn Memorial High School; 11:30 a.m. for the Joyce and Middle schools; 11 a.m. for elementary schools on Wednesday, Nov. 23. Closed Thanksgiving and Friday.
  • Closes early at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23. Closed on Thanksgiving.

Visit MassDOT's online traffic camera webpage with more than 90 live traffic cameras throughout the highway system. The cameras refresh every 10 seconds to provide real time traffic views. The 511 traffic alert system will include messages to alert customers to traffic advisories throughout the holiday weekend.

MassDOT will suspend highway construction projects on major roadways across the state from 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, through normal start of business on Monday, Nov. 28.

For added convenience, free coffee will be served at all 18 MassDOT service plazas courtesy of McDonalds, Burger King, and Gulf between 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving night, Thursday, Nov. 24, until 5 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 25.

Air Travel
