Michael Mulrenan's Official Campaign Announcement

My name is Michael Mulrenan. I am a lifelong Woburn resident, a Woburn High Graduate, Marine Corp Veteran, and former Woburn Boys Club Boy of the Year. In addition to my current role as a Woburn School Committee member, I am a Woburn Firefighter/ EMT. I was born in Woburn and have lived at 937 Main Street with my wife, Stacie (Soave), and my daughter, Leah (Class of 2007), for the past 27 years.

Please allow me this opportunity to officially announce my desire to be re-elected to the Woburn School Committee this November. Before I proceed, I feel I must take this opportunity to THANK all who have supported me over the years. I have done my best to keep myself involved in all aspects of our Woburn school system, from academics, sports, band and performing arts to personnel and building maintenance. It has been my goal to be a constant visible and positive presence and I have enjoyed doing so. Our community comes together in times of need. As citizens and voters of Woburn, we should all be very proud. That is one of the many reasons I really enjoy serving this wonderful city.

Over my years on the school committee, I have had the honor and privilege to serve as Committee Chairperson as well as a member and Chair of numerous Sub Committees. Serving alongside some truly dedicated and devoted individuals who were also some terrific mentors.

If voters give me the opportunity to serve, I will help us move forward as a city and competitive school district. Working with the administration, as I have in the past, we will work to prevent bullying, improve our technology, and help our students succeed. We are excited for changes, as the MSBA move forward with the Hurld - Wyman building plan. Fair budgets have been passed showing a team effort citywide, preventing assessing fees to our students. Thus, giving them the tools to graduate and take on the challenges ahead. Something we can all be proud of as Woburnites.

It is hard to find a way to express my gratitude to the voters for electing me in the past and how important it is to me to continue to serve as a proud member of the Woburn School Committee. I have the commitment, desire, experience, knowledge and ability to serve again. We have all heard the saying “Times they are a’ changing” and I ask for your votes once again so I can continue to be part of those positive changes. Thank you and please cast a vote for Michael Mulrenan for School Committee.
