MAKE SOME NOISE!

Come out to MAKE SOME NOISE and help to CURE Kids Cancer!

my name is Nancy Whipple and I am the Mom of an Angel.  My Son Alexander died on April 1, 2011 at age 21 months old after a 13 month fight against neuroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer.

After my son Alexander died, I became aware of a Fundraising group in New Jersey, called Make Some Noise: Cure Kids Cancer.

The Make Some Noise: Cure Kids Cancer Foundation is an energized non-profit organization founded by an 11-year-old New Jersey boy named Malcom, who was diagnosed with a highly malignant and aggressive bone tumor in November of 2008. During his treatments, he discovered that he was only one of 12,600 children a year who are diagnosed with pediatric cancer-- and that 3,000 of these children die from their cancers. He also learned that childhood cancer receives only 3% of the cancer research funding. Not seeing any awareness for pediatric cancer, he decided to tackle the challenge of raising awareness and the critically needed funding for pediatric cancer research through the incorporation of this foundation in the fall of 2009. The foundation has raised a million dollars to date, was recognized as a Top 3 finalist for “Best New Charity” in the 2012 Classy Awards, and has been able to help fund critical translational research at pediatric cancer research facilities across the country.

The Boston Chapter was recently incorporated in memory of my son, Alexander. In the course of our planning, another family has joined our efforts in memory of their son, Logan Foster, also a Woburn Resident.  Logan died on August 1, 2010 - he had just turned 4 in June.

As part of its fundraising efforts, The Make Some Noise: Cure Kids Cancer Foundation hosts charity dinner auctions each year to directly benefit pediatric cancer research. Our Boston Chapter is celebrating its Kick-Off Event during National “Noise Night,” on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Sons of Italy Hall in Woburn, at 7pm.   Tickets are $25 at the door.  It will be a fun night filled with the entertainment of Comedian Mike Lukas, Music, Appetizers and Raffle Prizes!  We would love for you to join in the fun!   We are currently looking for donations of raffle prizes.
