Obituary: Brenda (Bernard) Beaton, Longtime Woburn Resident

Mrs. Brenda (Bernard) Beaton 69, of Woburn, beloved wife of Douglas H. Beaton Jr. of Woburn, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born in Danvers, she was the daughter of the late Henry L. and Eva (Rogers) Bernard. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School.

Brenda had been employed for more than 25 years with the United States Government as a Foreign Disclosure Policy Officer then worked for General Dynamics in the same capacity until the time of her retirement in 2006. Brenda also worked part time at Suffolk Downs Race Track in East Boston.

Real estate was a passion of Brenda's and she was active in real estate ownership, rentals and property management in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Florida. Her business acumen and keen sense of finance helped make her business very successful.

A loving and dedicated wife, sister, aunt and friend, she was outgoing and she had an infectious smile. She will be remembered for her thoughtful and giving nature. A 30-year resident of Woburn, Brenda enjoyed spending time at her home in The Villages in Florida. Her home was always filled with warm feelings, friends, laughter and love andBrenda was the spark within it all. She enjoyed every moment she could spend with family and friends. She was eager to help those in need and supported all of her friends in each one of their endeavors.

In addition to her loving husband of 30 years, Brenda is survived by her siblings, Marilyn Lord of Peabody, Carol Plante of Peabody, Henry Bernard and his wife Lorraine of Salem, Patricia Sarantis of Danvers, Nancy O'Connell and her husband Daniel of Wenham and Michael Bernard and his wife Doreen of Peabody, her brother-in-law Leon Pelletier of The Villages, Florida and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Beaton of Revere and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and friends. She was also the sister of the late Claire Pelletier.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Route 62) Danvers, Thursday, Feb. 27 at 8:15 a.m. followed by her funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visiting hours Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 4 to 8 p.m.
