Obituary: Richard Karwan, Photographer

Karwan owned Karwan Photos and worked for the Daily Times Chronicle for more than 30 years.

Richard E. “Rick” Karwan, 65, who was a well-known photographer in Burlington and active in local organizations, died on Oct. 4, 2013 after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Karwan owned Karwan Photos and worked for the Daily Times Chronicle for more than 30 years. He was past president of Burlington Cable Access Television and was active in the United Church of Christ Congregational.

The Rotary Club of Burlington awarded him with its Paul Harris Award on the day that he died.

A Memorial Wake will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington, on Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the United Church of Christ Congregational Church, 6 Lexington St., Burlington, on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Karwan Family Education Fund, c/o Northern Bank, 13 Center St., Burlington, MA 01803.
