Obituary: Woburn Resident, World War II Veteran Mourned

Married for 65 years, Aloysius H. "Al" Weismann and his wife moved to Woburn in 1995.

The following obituary is from Dello Russo Funeral Home.

Mr. Aloysius H. "Al" Weismann, age 86, Of Woburn, formerly of Arlington, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. He was the devoted son of the late Rose (Neiters) & Nicholas Weismann.

Al was born in Rockville, Minnesota and graduated from St. Cloud, MN high school. Soon after graduation he joined the United States Navy and proudly served during World War II. He eventually settled in Arlington, MA with his beloved wife of 65 years, Mary B. (Breen) Weismann. That’s where they raised their family of five children. Al and Mary moved to Woburn in 1995.

Al was a self employed floor and tile installer for many years, never really retiring, just slowing down. He was a member of the St. James holy name society of Arlington and a member of their bowling team. He was a baseball fan, of the NY Yankees, and really enjoyed being outdoors, tending to his yard.

Al was the beloved husband of Mary B. (Breen) Weismann. Devoted father of Rose Thompson and her husband George of Reading, Patricia Ryan and her husband James of Arlington, Richard Weismann and his wife Ann of Woburn, Donald Weismann and his wife Patricia of Boxborough, and Carol Barring of CA. Also survived by 12 loving grandchildren and 6 loving great grandchildren. Brother of Isabel Kunkel of MN.

Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd. Woburn at 11 a.m.. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in Al's name to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
