Community Update

It is very encouraging to see so many Woburn residents take the time to attend the Mayoral debate last night. It is very important, now more than ever for members of our beloved community to actively participate in our local government. To me the role of Mayor is all about representing, looking out for and protecting all of our citizens. A strong mayor encourages participation and brings people together for the common good. A strong mayor unites the local business community with residents to solve problems, generate ideas and form alliances.

Unfortunately, this is not happening under the current mayor. Scott Galvin has used this office to hire friends, political supporters and the well connected onto the city payroll. In doing so, he has increased the city payroll by $14 million with very little to show for it. This is one of my main reasons for running.

I believe that the city belongs to all of us. The choice could not be more distinct - A career politician or a self-made business success with a proven track record for solving complex challenges.

Please join me in thanking the Woburn Democratic City Committee for running such a well-organized debate.

Lastly, I want to extend heartfelt thanks you to my family, friends and committee members for their continued help, support and encouragement. Without each and every one of you this would not be possible.

Thank you, and see you on Primary Tuesday!
