Letter to the Editor: A New Woburn Jewel

A letter to the Editor from Michael Raymond, Alderman Ward 6

The following is a letter to the editor:

On January 30, I along with City Council President Paul Denaro and Aldermen Haggerty, Anderson and Gaffney attended an open house at the Monarch Homes assisted living community at 857 Main Street in North Woburn.

Monarch Homes is an assisted living community offering residents with memory loss three levels of programs designed to cater to the individual needs of the resident in a state of the art supportive environment that is bright, cheerful and happy. ย During the tour I was impressed with the attention to detail that went into the interior design of the facility. For example, the colors of Monarch Homes are strategically chosen and placed to assist residents with way-finding to key locations and activities. I was also impressed with the security features of the community one example is; each resident must receive a visit from an attendant every hour. To insure compliance each room has a push button within the room that once pushed will record the time in a central computer log.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the owners of Monarch Homes for choosing Woburn for their facility, and I am glad I had a small part to make this project a reality.

Sincerely
