A 67-year-old Woburn man, who was allegedly drunk, struck a man on a moped Wednesday night in Arlington Center.
Leo J. Byrne, of Sturgis Street, Woburn, was driving a 2004 Ford Taurus east on Mass. Ave. at about 8:30 p.m. when he attempted to turn left onto Medford Street and hit the man on the moped, who was in the westbound lane.
The victim, who was cited for driving without a license, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Cambridge City Hospital, according to police.
Byrne was visibly drunk at the scene, police said. He registered a blood alcohol content of more than twice the legal limit on a portable breathalyzer test at the scene, according to police. He refused field sobriety tests, police said.
Byrne was arrested and charged with operating under the influence (first offense) and failure to yield, police said.
